The Department of Government Support works to achieve a set of objectives which have been categorized into priorities relevant to the following key sectors: Human Capital, Digital Transformation, Data, and Government Procurement. The Department of Government Support in Abu Dhabi defines four priorities as an overall framework for the Department’s objectives. They are:

Build a data ecosystem that empowers decision-making for all government stakeholders

This priority is linked to the data sector, and through it, the Department of Government Support aims to achieve two main objectives: the provision of value-added statistical data to relevant stakeholders and the establishment of an integrated, open government data management ecosystem. This will enable both public and private sectors to exchange and share open data with users, start-ups, and academic institutions to improve public services, support informed decision-making, and strengthen the Abu Dhabi economy.

Strive to provide integrated, digitized government services to enhance the quality of life and boost business growth opportunities

The Department of Government Support aims to achieve excellence in providing digital government services. In line with this priority, which is part of the Digital Transformation sector, the Department strives to provide integrated, digitized government services to enhance the quality of life and boost business growth opportunities in the Abu Dhabi Emirate. The Department of Government Support also promotes innovation through digital transformation and strengthening cyber-resilience across the Abu Dhabi government.

Aim to increase the efficiency and inclusivity of government procurement practices, and rationalize government spending

When it comes to the government procurement sector, the Department of Government Support priorities include: increasing the efficiency and inclusivity of government procurement practices, and rationalizing government spending, in addition to enabling an effective transition to a digital procurement system.

Aim to empower national talent in the public and private sectors

As part of this HR-related priority, the Department of Government Support, represented by the Human Resources Authority – Abu Dhabi (HRA), aims to empower Emirati talent in the public and private sectors, modernize the HR management ecosystem and practices, and institutionalize a holistic learning and development ecosystem, in addition to transforming the Abu Dhabi government work culture and achieving a higher level of staff engagement.
